If you have E-Filed your return:
“When will you get your IRS refund?”
E-File for Faster Refunds
At Akron Income Tax Co, we E-File your Taxes for Faster Refunds. Furthermore, we can E-File both Federal and State Taxes. The IRS and the State do not post any hard guidelines as to when you should expect your refunds.
The IRS has a weekly refund batch schedule that ends every Saturday. So that means that all tax returns that are accepted from Sunday through Saturday are in the same batch. Furthermore, the IRS states that they will release Tax Refunds on Fridays. If your E-File (Weekly Batch) was accepted, you should get (so they say) your Federal Direct Deposit refund in 20-27 days. If you requested a paper check, it will be mailed a week later (27-34 days). The longest it will normally take for a Direct Deposit Tax refund is 27 days.
We cannot guarantee the date a Tax refund will be issued, and neither can the IRS. If the expected date of your refund for your Taxes has passed. And you do not have your refund, you can check at www.IRS.gov/Refunds.
State Filings are completed “after” the federal is filed and accepted.
Delayed Refunds
There are multiple reasons that your Tax Refund could be delayed. If your Tax Return does not match the records that the IRS or Social Security has in their database, you can count on a problem. Other reporting issues and common reasons are questionable Earned Income Credit requests, dependents used on another return. Secondly, first-time filers, and W2s or SS# that do not match. Also, there could be issues with back taxes or child support.
We understand that e-filing your Taxes and then having your refund delayed is frustrating. Sometimes it is beyond our control. It is our job to complete your Income Tax Preparation correctly and transmit that information to the IRS. When we send your Taxes to the IRS, the next day they either accept it or reject it. Then they provide us with a reason why. At that time, we can repair the error and resend your Taxes.
Correcting Information
Sometimes, when the error is related to incorrect personal Federal Tax Return information. We must contact the taxpayer and review the Tax Return to reassess the correct information. Common errors include social security numbers do not match the names. Secondly, if one of the dependents filed incorrectly or another person claimed the dependent. Next, if the first year is married, and the spouse’s name doesn’t match social security records. This is the biggest reason for asking the taxpayers to review their return. Please review 1040 Tax Returns for errors before we submit them to the IRS. Correcting a Return before it is submitted, is much easier (and faster) than correcting it after it is in the system.
After your Taxes have been accepted, that acceptance date will determine. When the refund should be deposited into the taxpayer’s account. The IRS no longer post a refund cycle calendar for your Taxes, but you should expect Federal direct deposits within 4 weeks. Mailed checks for Taxes will take longer.
After the Federal Return has been accepted. if you do not receive your refund (direct deposit) for your Taxes within 27 days, after acceptance. You should contact us and let us check into it. You also have the option to go to www.IRS.gov/Refunds and click on “Where’s My Refund”
